P2P networks consolidates as a viable distribution alternative to Broadcast TV

23/01/06 - P2P video services have multiplied the opportunities for content creators in mobile 3G and broadband, according to the conclusions of a free report published by author Stephen Griffiths of Breakthroo Limited. With P2P networks video professionals, amateurs creators and niche markets can reach end users directly thanks to its any-to-any distribution method, opposing to one-to-many broadcast distribution model.

Great expectations for DTT European market

10/01/06 - Digital terrestrial television has been launched in most countries across Europe, according to DigiTAG report on Analogue Switchover Strategies. France has become the last big European country to launch a DTT service. In Spain, the sales of set-top boxes over Christmas have doubled the number in the market, passing all forecasts.

Annual Report published

28/11/05 - The first Annual Report of the Content4All project has been published at the Information Society Technologies (IST) website. The document is a kind of business card of EU funded projects in approaching the European public and media, businesses, researchers and decision-makers. It includes information about global development of the project, objectives, partners, etc.

Content4all Showcase optimized

16/10/05 - The Flash demo produced as a supporting material for the evaluation of Content4all has been optimized for the web. It can be downloaded from here

Content4all in IEEE ERK 2005

20/09/05 - Content4All will be one of the speakers during International Electrotechnical and Computer Science (ERK) that will be take place in the following weeks (26 to 28 of September) in Slovenia.

Evaluation Methodology Defined

12/09/05 - The Evaluation Methodology deliverable has been finished. This document defines how to evaluate both the frist and the second phase of the prototype. The first evaluation, which is due in November'05, will focus on the user interface, while the second one will test the core functionalities.

First System Specifications Delivered

08/06/05 - The first version of System Specs document has been delivered in time to the EC. Based on these specifications, the implementation has already started to build the first version of the prototype, which is due by the end of August.

Second milestone reached

31/03/05 - The "User, Market and System Requirements" deliverable has been finished. This document analyses the market situation concerning cross-media content distribution and peer-to-peer (P2P) and describes the main user and services scenario, as a scenario on travel content. It also summarises the technical requirements for implementation of a demonstrator based on this usage scenario.

Conference on DTV and cross-media

25/03/05 - TVC Netmedia was one of the speakers at the “Internet and i-Advertising Forum” conference, hosted by the Instituto de Fomento Empresarial. “DTV and cross-media. The impact of new tech in the media and tendencies” was the title of Content4All's partner presentation, which took place the 15th of March in Madrid (Spain).
