Peer to peer reaches multiple devices

30/10/06 - Sharing services and companies improving business impacts of peer-to-peer are releasing a number of clients for PC, PDA and mobile devices. P2P radio network Mercora has just launched a new software that will allow costumers to listen to music from their own hard drives; MP3Tunes Music Locker allows consumers to sync their music library across devices, including PCs, smartphones, and even to digital video recorders.

Sun Com to offer music downloads from Napster Mobile

25/08/06 - Napster, the peer to peer pioneer model -now a legal file sharing network-, announced its first deployment of Napster Mobile. SunCom Wireless will offer customers full music track downloads directly to their handsets from Napster Mobile for $2 per song. SunCom provides two new Sony Ericsson phones that support Napster music downloading.

New Content4all public website launched

13/07/06 - The new public website of the project includes now the possibility of downloading the mobile, PDA and PC applications for user testing. First edition CityGuides of Barcelona and Hamburg are already avalaible.

P2P Technology providers and broadcasters to stream World Cup Soccer

08/06/06 - Broadcasting corporations such as BBC and peer-to-peer IPTV services including Swiss Zattoo TV and Chinese Mysee will provide video live broadcast of the 2006 World Cup. These new services based on p2p networks bring end users quick-start, long-play Internet Television.

The growing influence of P2P forces media to redefine their strategy

18/05/06 - Some of the most influential media companies and broadcasting corporations, including the BBC, are reported to say that on-demand services will be the future of digital content distribution. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group has been has been first major studio to sign a deal with a P2P platform (BitTorrent) to publish legal film and TV content. This announcement follows BitTorrent's agreement with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) to prevent film piracy.

Content4all project in IGC2006

16/03/06 - Content4all's paper has been selected to be displayed in IGC2006, the leading congress on the Innovation and Knowledge in the Digital Society in Spain. Cristina Melo from Activa Multimedia will be one of the speakers of the ICT sector. Its paper p2p and collaborative publishing systems in iDTV (TDT), wireless and PC is included in the "Convergence of platforms" block.

Activa Multimèdia in 3GSM Congress

15/02/06 - Activa Multimedia Digital has been exhibiting at 3GSM World Congress 2006 in Barcelona its new platform of virtual character creation for 3G mobile telecommunications, named IVAC. This platform allows the development of virtual guides, personalized avatars and all kind of multilingual characters such as Sam, the first worldwide virtual and automatic weatherman, created by Activa Multimèdia.

First legal P2P service for mobile launched

30/01/06 - Nareos, a pioneering digital content commerce solutions provider, last december 23th introduced the world's first legal mobile p2p file sharing service, PeerBox(TM), a technology that searches, identifies and offers paid music downloads. The application, in which users are required to either 'speak' or 'type' a music search query on their mobile to search for a title in p2p networks, will be offered as a subscription and a pay-per-download service.
